Who is responsible for the site
MTD Magpie is operated by Brian Rooney, sole trader, Office 1, Technology House, 9 Newton Place, Glasgow, G3 7PR.
The finder
The eight answers you give to the route finder are processed in your browser to calculate the displayed results. The launch version does not send those answers to MTD Magpie or store them in an account.
Cookies and analytics
The launch build does not intentionally set non-essential analytics or advertising cookies. If analytics, advertising technology or other tracking is added later, this notice and any consent mechanism will be updated before that tracking is enabled.
Email checklist
The launch version lets you download the MTD checklist directly and does not collect your email address. If an email service is added later, the site will identify the provider, purpose, retention approach and unsubscribe mechanism before collection starts.
External links
If you follow a link to HMRC, a software company or another provider, that organisation will process data under its own privacy information. Future commercial links will be clearly marked Ad.
Server logs
The website host may process basic technical logs needed to deliver and protect the site, such as IP address, request time and browser information. Those logs are controlled by the hosting configuration and should be kept only as long as necessary for security and operation.
Your rights
UK data protection law gives individuals rights over their personal information. The launch site is intentionally designed to collect very little personal data. A monitored privacy contact address will be added before any optional personal-data collection is enabled.
